This question will be resolved based on total tests data reported for a date as of the following day at 4:00PM ET by The COVID Tracking Project for "US Daily Cumulative Totals" (COVID Tracking Project). As of 8 April 2020, 2,197,743 COVID-19 total tests had been conducted in the United States.
