Before 7 May 2021, will the Bank of England set its Bank Rate to below zero?
Closed May 06, 2021 07:01AM UTC
The Bank of England's benchmark interest rate is known as the "Bank Rate" (Economist, Bank of England). Amid the COVID-19 pandemic and negotiations with the EU regarding an end to the Brexit transition period, the Bank of England has explored setting negative interest rates for the UK (BBC, Guardian, S&P Global, Financial Times).
