While China made it through 2020 and 2021 with relatively few reported COVID-19 cases, recent outbreaks have pushed daily case figures to new records (France 24, UPI). The outcome will be determined using data as reported by Our World in Data (OWiD, parameters are set in the link). Data showing cumulative confirmed COVID-19 cases for China through and including 30 June 2022 will be assessed on 6 July 2022.

This question has been voided by an administrator and is no longer active.

Data for COVID-19 cases in China have been revised recently, decreasing the total number of reported cases by about a third. While we generally see data revisions as a normal part of the forecasting process, these fluctuations are extraordinarily large in both nominal and relative terms for any comparable COVID cases metric at this time of the pandemic. Therefore, we have decided to void the question.
