What will be the total carbon dioxide emissions in the world in 2023, according to Our World in Data (OWiD)?

The outcome will be determined using data as reported by OWiD (OWiD). In 2020, total carbon dioxide emissions in the world were 34.81 billion tonnes. Any offsets from carbon capture technology would be immaterial.

This question will be suspended on 15 October 2022. While forecasts on this question may be evaluated in the years to come, they will not be scored.
