The Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings compare over 1,500 universities around the world (QS Top Universities). In the rankings for 2026, the highest-ranked Chinese institution was Peking University at 14th, unchanged from 2025 and up from 17th in 2024 (China Daily, QS Rankings 2024). Rankings for 2027 are expected sometime in late spring or early summer 2026 (QS - World University Rankings). Institutions in Hong Kong or Macau will not count as Chinese.
