The Raiders "earned" the first pick in the NFL Draft as the worst team in the NFL in the 2025 regular season, with Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Fernando Mendoza of Indiana seen as a potential franchise quarterback, though Las Vegas could trade its pick or seek out another top player (Fox Sports, ESPN). The 2026 NFL Draft is scheduled to start on 23 April 2026, hosted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Steelers.com). Mendoza being chosen by any team other than the Raiders will not count.
