How many Formula One (F1) cars qualified to start in the 2026 F1 Australian Grand Prix will either not start or not finish the race?
Closing Mar 07, 2026 08:01AM UTC
F1 has implemented new technical rules for its vehicles, which has led to some controversy and claims of cheating between teams as new technologies will first be put to the test to start the season at the Australian Grand Prix (Motorsport, Coffee Corner Motorsport, Modatek). F1 has deferred a vote regarding the use of controversial new engine modifications for mid-season (ESPN). The question will be suspended on 6 March 2026 and the outcome determined using results as published by F1 at the conclusion of the race (Formula 1 - Australian Grand Prix). In 2025, 5 cars did not finish (DNF) and one did not start (DNS), for a total of 6 (Formula 1 - 2025 Australian Grand Prix Results). If the race is canceled or postponed to a date after 1 April 2026, the question will close "10 or more."
