From January 2023 to mid-August 2023, bitcoin has nearly doubled in value in US dollar terms amid continued pushes for a spot bitcoin ETF in the US (Cointelegraph). The question will be suspended on 30 December 2023 and the outcome determined using Coinbase price data as reported by the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) database (FRED). On 17 August 2023, the price of a bitcoin was $26,600.98.
