  The Economist asks

Before 1 July 2017, will a date be set for early general elections in the United Kingdom?

General elections are not due again in the UK until 2020, but the recent court ruling requiring parliamentary approval for Brexit has prompted some calls for a snap election (Financial Times, The Telegraph, BBC, The World in 2017), and British law allows for out-of-cycle elections under certain conditions (www.parliament.uk).
