Egg prices in the US have skyrocketed as avian flu has led to millions of commercial chickens being killed to prevent its spread (CNET, AP). The question will be suspended on 30 June 2025 and the outcome determined using Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) price data as first reported by the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) database (FRED). As of the launch of this question, the price of a dozen Grade A, large eggs in June 2024 in the US was $2.715.
