The interim government in Bangladesh has been seeking former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's extradition from India, which has become a growing point of contention between the two neighbors (First Post, Deutsche Welle, MSN [Reuters]). Hasina resigned and fled to India amid widespread protests in July and August 2024 (BBC, AP). Hasina must be in Bangladeshi custody in Bangladesh to count, and extradition from a country other than India will not count.
