Will the US Democratic National Committee (DNC) vote in the affirmative to hold new elections for vice chair positions held by Malcolm Kenyatta and David Hogg?
Closed Jun 12, 2025 12:01AM UTC
After a vice chair candidate who lost in the original elections in February 2025 claimed that the DNC violated its own rules requiring gender parity in the process, the Committee announced that it would put whether to redo the vice chair elections to a vote of its membership (CNN, Politico, Democrats.org 1 February 2025). The DNC membership will vote on whether to hold a new election 9-11 June; if approved, the membership will vote on 12-14 June for a vice chair, who must be a man, and then another vice chair of any gender 15-17 June (The Hill). Whether Hogg is elected in the first vice chair vote or the second is immaterial.
