In August 2025 and after state Democrats fled the state to deny a quorum in the state House of Representatives, Texas adopted new congressional district maps that could increase the number of GOP House seats by as many as five (PBS, Texas Tribune). As of the launch of this question, Republicans held 25 of Texas' 38 US House seats (Ballotpedia - US Congressional Delegations from Texas). Elections are scheduled for 3 November 2026 (Ballotpedia).
