Before 4 November 2025, will New York City (NYC) Republican mayoral nominee Curtis Sliwa cease to be a candidate and/or endorse Andrew Cuomo?
Closed Nov 04, 2025 08:01AM UTC
With socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani leading in the polls for November's NYC mayoral election, pressure is building on GOP nominee Sliwa to drop out of the race to boost Andrew Cuomo's chances against Mamdani (CBS News, NY Post). Sliwa or his campaign must call on voters to vote for Andrew Cuomo by name (or with a pronoun for which Cuomo is the antecedent) to count as an endorsement, and a clarification regarding an ambiguous statement to that effect will count.
