Widespread "Gen Z" protests in Nepal in September 2025 led to the dissolution of the country's House of Representatives and new elections being called (Al Jazeera, BBC). In 2022, the Nepali Congress party won the most seats, 89 out of 275 (Inter-Parliamentary Union). In the event of a tie, the party with more total votes (both party list and constituency) in the House of Representatives elections will be considered to have won more seats. In the event of a split in the party, further resolution instructions will be provided. As of the launch of this question, elections were scheduled for 5 March 2026 (Economic Times). If the Nepali Congress party list includes members of other parties, members of those parties will count toward the seat count of the Nepali Congress. If elections are canceled or postponed to a date after 31 December 2026, the question will close "Another outcome."
