California voters approved Proposition 50, which suspends the work of the state's independent redistricting commission and changes the state's congressional districts for the rest of the decade to the advantage of the Democratic Party in several districts (NBC News, Public Policy Institute of California). As of the launch of this question, Democrats held 43 of California's 52 US House seats (Ballotpedia - US Congressional Delegations from California). Elections are scheduled for 3 November 2026 (Ballotpedia).
