The DGA's contract with the AMPTP, a trade group that represents studios and streamers, is scheduled to expire on 30 June 2026 (Deadline, DGA Basic Agreement 2023, AMPTP). The last DGA strike took place in 1987, though it only lasted a few hours (DGA). The question will close "No" upon the ratification of a new contract or contract extension to replace the expiring contract through and including 1 August 2026.
