The Baltic Dry Index has fallen from 2025 highs reached in December of last year, but the outlook for demand remains strong (Lloyd's List, Hellenic Shipping News). The Baltic Dry Index is a benchmark index for the cost of shipping bulk goods, such as coal, iron ore, and grain (Investopedia - Baltic Dry Index). The question will be suspended on 23 April 2026 and the outcome determined using Baltic Exchange Dry Index data as reported by Trading Economics (Trading Economics).
