Amid higher interest rates, job openings in the US have fallen in 2023 but are still at historically elevated levels (Investopedia). The question will be suspended on 29 February 2024 and the outcome determined using BLS data as first reported by the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) database for February 2024, expected in April 2024 (FRED, BLS - JOLTS Release Schedule). As of the launch of this question, the total number of job openings reported for February 2023 was 9,974 (in thousands), or 9.974 million.
