The Federal Reserve's balance sheet shrank from a record near $9 trillion in the spring of 2022 to about $7.7 trillion in early December 2023, though the pace of bringing it down has some concerned (US News & World Report, Yahoo, Investopedia). The question will be suspended on 24 December 2023 and the outcome determined using data provided by the Federal Reserve (Federal Reserve (data table)). As of 13 December 2023, the Total Assets of the Federal Reserve were $7,739,566 million, or $7.739566 trillion.
