With Chinese stocks battered as hopes for a robust economic rebound in 2024 have faded, China has halted the daily reporting of foreign flows of capital into equity markets (MSN [Bloomberg], Yahoo [Business Insider]). The question will be suspended on 26 December 2024 and the outcome determined using data reported by Google Finance (Google Finance, set chart to "6M"). On 19 August 2024, the closing value of the Shanghai Composite Index was 2,893.67.
