After winning a closer-than-expected presidential election in late 2024, President Maia Sandu and the allied PAS are seeking to keep Moldova on the path toward greater EU integration despite reported meddling efforts by Moscow (Politico, Deutsche Welle, International Bar Association, Voice of America [in Russian]). Parliamentary elections are due by October 2025 (Radio Moldova). The parliament of Moldova has 101 seats (Constitution of Moldova, see Article 60).
