Gasoline prices have fallen as OPEC+ announced planned oil production increases and despite fears of a potential military confrontation involving Iran (CNBC, Yahoo [Bloomberg]). The question will be suspended on 28 September 2025 and the outcome determined using average price data per the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) as reported by the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) database (FRED). On 30 September 2024, the price per gallon was $3.087.
