The P/E ratio of stocks is a key measure used to evaluate a company's valuation and performance (Investopedia - Price-to-Earnings (P/E) Ratio, Investopedia - S&P 500). The question will be suspended on 31 May 2026 and the outcome determined using table data as reported by Multpl once data for 1 June 2026 are first published (Multpl). As of the launch of this question, the estimated P/E ratio of the S&P 500 as of 1 May 2025 was reported as 26.87.
