The University of Michigan's Index of Consumer Sentiment is produced from a monthly survey of US consumers and is a widely followed economic measure (Advisor Perspectives, Investopedia - Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index). The final value for January 2025 was 71.7 (University of Michigan News). The question will be suspended on 19 January 2026 if still open and the outcome determined using University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index final data (not preliminary) as reported for the relevant month, typically on the last Friday of that month (University of Michigan - Survey of Consumers, Survey of Consumers - 2025 Release Schedule). Historical data are also available on FRED, though the University of Michigan site will be used for resolution, and FRED does not display the most recent month of data at the request of the source (FRED).
