Kinnaj asks:
Before 15 March 2026, will Jens Spahn either cease to be the leader of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group or publicly announce his intention to resign from that position?
Closing Mar 15, 2026 07:01AM UTC
Jens Spahn became the head of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU)/Christian Social Union (CSU) parliamentary alliance after the 2025 German general election, but his work as the German health minister during the COVID-19 pandemic has brought new scrutiny (Yahoo [DPA International], Deutsche Welle, Yahoo [DPA International], Jens Spahn [in German]). An announced intention to resign must indicate that he will leave his CDU/CSU leadership post before the next German general election to count, and announcing that he will resign once a replacement is chosen will count.
