When will the Sinclair Broadcast Group and Nexstar Media Group have both announced that they will no longer preempt "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on their local, ABC-affiliated broadcast stations?

While Disney, the parent company of the American Broadcasting Company (ABC), announced on 22 September 2025 that its suspension of Jimmy Kimmel's late-night show would end on 23 September 2025, both Sinclair Broadcast Group and Nexstar Media Group announced that they would continue to preempt "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" over the late-night host's comments about the assassination of Charlie Kirk (Politico, Nexstar, Deadline, Hollywood Reporter). The question will close upon both groups having publicly stated that they will no longer preempt the show and have stated when the preemption will cease. The actual dates the preemptions are due to cease are immaterial. If one group announces an end to the preemption and retracts it before the other announces an end to the preemption, that previously announced end to the preemption will not count. Any decisions made by individual stations to preempt the show will be immaterial.
