Along with several US cities, Montreal and Vancouver are both looking to win a baseball expansion franchise (Essentially Sports). A "shared" franchise will count if one of the locations set to be a host is in Canada (e.g., the Kansas City-Omaha Kings Omaha Magazine). The last two MLB teams created were the Tampa Bay Devil Rays (now simply the Rays) and Arizona Diamondbacks (UPI). The question will close as of MLB announcing the locations for at least two new franchises or MLB officially announcing that no locations for new franchises will be announced before 1 July 2028.
