Helmut_K asks:
When will Samir Shah either publicly announce his intention to resign or retire as chairman of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) or cease to be the chairman of the BBC?
Closed Jan 01, 2026 08:01AM UTC
The BBC has faced a firestorm of criticism over its selective editing of a speech by President Trump on 6 January 2021, which has already seen the resignation of BBC Director-General Tim Davie and news chief Deborah Turness (ABC News, BBC, CNN, BBC - Samir Shah). An official announcement from BBC on Shah's behalf will count, but an announcement merely stating that he will resign at some point in the future without either giving a specific date or tying his resignation to a specific future event will not count.
