The Economist asks:
Will Donald Trump win a Nobel Peace Prize in 2026?
Closing Oct 09, 2026 07:01AM UTC
President Trump reportedly wants to win a Nobel Peace Prize, though he did not win in 2025 amid various diplomatic initiatives early in his second term (NBC News, CNN, NBC News, PBS). The Nobel Peace Prize, per the will of Alfred Nobel, should go to "the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses" (Nobel Peace Prize). The question will close as of the announcement of the winner in 2026. An award of the prize to multiple people or parties will count so long as Trump is one of the named winners.
