probahilliby asks:

By the date of the release of its third quarter FY2026 results, will Apple Inc. announce that Tim Cook has ceased or will cease to be the company's sole CEO?

Closing Jul 31, 2026 07:01AM UTC

The Financial Times reported in mid-November 2025 that Apple is making preparations for Tim Cook, who has served as Apple's CEO since 2011, to retire (Yahoo [Reuters], Tech Crunch). Apple's third quarter FY2026 is expected to end on approximately 27 June 2026, with the release expected on or about 30 July 2026. The addition of a co-CEO will count. A public announcement that he will resign upon the selection of a new CEO will count, but an announcement merely stating that he will resign at some point in the future without either giving a specific date or tying his resignation/retirement to a specific future event will not count. If Apple announces that its third quarter FY2026 release will not be published until after 31 July 2026, the closing date will be extended.
