The Financial Times reported in mid-November 2025 that Apple is making preparations for Tim Cook, who has served as Apple's CEO since 2011, to retire (Yahoo [Reuters], Tech Crunch). The question will close upon Apple and/or Tim Cook announcing that Cook will cease to be the sole CEO before 2 January 2027 or Cook actually ceasing to be the sole CEO. If Apple or Cook announce that Cook will not cease to be the sole CEO until after 1 January 2027, the question will remain open.
