Social Democrats, currently the largest party in in the Folketing, suffered widespread losses in local elections in November 2025 as Danish political parties prepare for a general election due in 2026 (Guardian, Politico). The next national election for the Folketing is due by October 2026 (Yahoo [Reuters]). The close date for this question will be changed once the official election date is set.
