Construction and planning for AI infrastructure boomed in the US in 2025 (Data Center Knowledge, Construction Connect). The question will be suspended on 17 December 2026 and the outcome determined using data as reported by Epoch AI (Epoch AI, ensure that the range bar below the chart includes 2030 [if/when available] and select all "Data centers" under "Graph Settings"). Data will be accessed for resolution at approximately 5:00PM (ET) on 18 December 2026. Only data centers located in the US will count, and location data are available under Table View (Epoch AI - Table View, select "Timelines" at the top of the table, click "Get the data" at the bottom of the chart to download, and see the "Power (MW)" column). As of the launch of this question, the largest announced frontier data center planned to be built in the US was Microsoft Fairwater Wisconsin, which is planned to reach 3,328 by 2027.
