After Mikie Sherrill won the 2025 election for New Jersey governor, a special election was called to fill the House of Representatives seat previously held by Sherrill (WHYY, New Jersey Globe). The Democratic Party primary for the 11th Congressional District special election in New Jersey is scheduled for 5 February 2026 (Ballotpedia).
