The race for AI infrastructure has led to hyperscalers entering the corporate bond market in force to finance billions in planned expenditures (CNBC, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, JP Morgan). The question will be suspended on 31 December 2026 and the outcome determined using data as reported by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) once data for December 2026 are first available (SIFMA, click "Download (xls)" under "LINKS," free registration required). As of the launch of this question, SIFMA reported the total value of US corporate bonds issued in 2025 as $2,217.98342 billion (or $2.21798342 trillion), up from $1,968.93644 billion (or $1.96893644 trillion) in 2024 (XLSX File Download, see Column N on the "Issuance" sheet).
