The Economist asks:
Will legislation amending or repealing Section 230 of the Communications Act of 1934 become law before 1 October 2022?
Section 230 is a statute that protects social media companies from liability for content their users post (The Verge, The Conversation, Cornell). There are multiple proposals under debate for its modification (Ars Technica, Brookings Institution).
