How many total federal firearm background checks will be initiated in the US in November 2024 and December 2024?

Firearm sales in the US have fallen from record highs during the peak of the pandemic, which coincided with the 2020 presidential election (USA Today). The question will be suspended on 31 December 2024 and the outcome determined using data for November 2024 and December 2024 as reported by the FBI once December 2024 data are first available, expected in January 2025 (FBI). For November 2023 and December 2023, the FBI reported a total of 5,383,725 firearm background checks.
