Private Superforecasting Workshop asks:

Will the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) make a tentative award of a contract to replace the Washington Bridge (I-195) before 1 July 2025?

In December 2023, RIDOT closed the westbound side of the Washington Bridge due to the discovery of component failures (WPRI). After a series of delays, including hold-ups related to the demolition of the existing bridge, the governor's office has announced that it expects to make a tentative award on 6 June 2025 (WPRI, Rhode Island Current, Governor of Rhode Island). The question will close early upon an official announcement from RIDOT that the replacement contract will not be awarded before 1 July 2025.
