Which of the US Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) regions will have the highest real GDP growth rate in 2025?
Closing Jan 01, 2026 08:01AM UTC
Major policy shifts under the Trump administration are expected to have varying impacts on the US economy (Penn Wharton - Budget Model, Investopedia). The question will be suspended on 31 December 2025 and the outcome determined using data as reported by BEA once preliminary data for 2025 are first released, expected in March 2026 (BEA, parameters set in link). As of the launch of this question, the Far West (Alaska, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington) was ranked first with a real GDP growth rate of 3.362% in 2024 (BEA - Gross Domestic Product by State and Personal Income by State, 4th Quarter 2024 and Preliminary 2024, see Table 1). While the report included rounded percentage figures, the values used for resolution will be calculated by dividing the dollar figures for 2025 by the dollar figures for 2024 and subtracting one.
