Will the presidents of Russia and the United States meet in person before 20 January 2026?
Closed Aug 15, 2025 07:10PM UTC
Donald Trump has expressed frustration with Russian President Vladimir Putin over a potential peace deal in the war in Ukraine, but the parties haven't foreclosed the prospect of a potential meeting between the two leaders (CNN, Yahoo [Bloomberg], Politico). The meeting must be face-to-face but can occur in any venue and does not need to be bilateral to count. A meeting with an acting president under the constitution of the relevant country will count.
