After the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported major downward revisions on job creation in the US on 1 August 2025, there is speculation that the Fed may cut rates by its September meeting by more than the usual 0.25% (Yahoo [Bloomberg], Yahoo [Fortune]). As of close of business on 30 July 2025, the upper limit was 4-1/2 percent (4.50%) (Federal Reserve - FOMC Statement 30 July 2025).
