Beef prices in the US have soared due to shrinking cattle herds, rising feed costs, and other factors (Newsweek, AP). The question will be suspended on 31 March 2026 and the outcome determined using Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data as first reported by the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) database (FRED). As of the launch of this question, the price of a pound of ground beef in March 2025 in the US was $5.790.
