In early February 2025, Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino announced that his country would leave China's Belt and Road Initiative amid US pressure (President of Panama [in Spanish], Voice of America, Newsweek). The timing of an exit is immaterial. For the purposes of this question, a nation is a Western Hemisphere nation if so categorized by the IMF and excluding Canada and the US (IMF).
