The Federal Reserve announced in October 2025 that it would end its monthly run off of its balance sheet starting in December 2025 (CNBC, Yahoo [Reuters]). The question will be suspended on 29 December 2026 and the outcome determined using data provided by the Federal Reserve (Federal Reserve (data table), FRED). As of 17 December 2025, the Total Assets of the Federal Reserve were $6,556,861 million, or $6.556831 trillion.
