After the US and UK announced new sanctions on various Russian metals and President Biden called for new tariffs on Chinese steel and aluminum, prices for the metal have jumped (US News & World Report, Euronews, CNBC). The question will be suspended on 24 October 2024 and the outcome determined using price data (USD/Tonne) as reported by Trading Economics (Trading Economics).
