Challenges
Donald Trump had planned to hold a late-2025 meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Hungary over a potential peace deal in the war in Ukraine, but those plans were called off and new sanctions against Russia's largest oil firms followed (Politico, CNN). The meeting must be face-to-face but can occur in any venue and does not need to be bilateral to count. A meeting with an acting president under the constitution of the relevant country will count.
