US trade and tariff policy has seen imports shift away from China, with trade increasing with other Asian countries (Centre for Economic Policy Research, Yahoo [GlobalData], CNBC). The Ports are collectively known as the San Pedro Bay Port Complex (Port of Los Angeles). The question will be suspended on 30 June 2026 and the outcome determined using January through and including June 2026 data as reported by the Ports for "Loaded" TEUs, a standardized measurement of volume for cargo containers (Port of Los Angeles, see "Loaded Imports" for 2026, Port of Long Beach, see "Loaded Inbound," Freight Right - TEU). For January 2025 through and including June 2025, the Ports reported a total of 4,836,733 "Loaded" TEUs, or 4.836733 million "Loaded" TEUs.
