US mortgage rates trended lower in the first ten months of 2025, but further declines are expected to depend on future Fed rate cuts and inflation concerns (Investopedia, Yahoo). The question will be suspended on 28 October 2026 and the outcome determined using Freddie Mac 30-year fixed rate mortgage average data as reported by the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) database (FRED).
